Pakistan made
drones to fight against locust swarms
Pakistan has manufactured drones that would be used to
encounter locusts’ swarms. After creating ventilators locally National Radio Telecommunication Corporation or NRTC announced earlier this week that they
have made Drones.

The drones will help farmers for tackling locust swarms
which have badly affected agriculture lands in Pakistan. The drones will be
used for spraying pesticides and insecticides because were affected by locusts’
swarms. A few days ago, Minister for Science and Technology has advised
Pakistan engineers to manufacture drones.
PM Imran Khan was also briefed on the programs going on in
NRTC especially the manufacturing of drones which will be helpful in the battle
against Locust swarms.
So far 2.4 million acres of land were sprayed by
insecticides to keep the damage minimum. The operations have been carried out
in 41 districts, where 972 teams are actively participating against it.

By far 61 districts have been affected by locusts’ attack.
The locusts emerge from the desert eat everything in the land and travel with
approximately 92 miles per day. According to the UN, 38% of agriculture land is
breeding ground for the insects.
