Companies are using VR to treat Stress and Anxiety caused by COVID-19

VR is used by the companies to treat Depression and stress related to Corona virus

Corona has had a huge impact on World's physical and mental well being. besides the harm Covid-19 can cause, fear of catching the virus and isolation has made people depressed and stressed. As more and more technologies are being used to fight COVID-19 effectively, Augmented Reality and Virtual reality are increasingly used as tools to ease the stress and anxiety caused by covid-19.

A recent survey revealed that 45% of US citizens report a negative impact on their mental well-being which was 32% in March. this study shows a psychological impact, COVID-19 can cause. Another survey from the census bureau suggests that as of the ending of week June 23, 36% of the American adults were suffering from Anxiety and Stress.


There are number of games and apps that help in treating strees and anxiety caused by Corona virus. As an example, DEEP VR  is a meditative game devoloped in partnership with Radboud university to treat stress and depression. In the game the user explores underwater world by deeply breathing, while the breating measured by the belt wraps around his diaphragm. Studies show that such deep breathings relieve the nervous sysytem.


Soundself is another VR-Supported meditation app created by Andromeda Entertainment. This game sends the player into a meditative trance, when he exhales and inhales, it creates and updates a virtual world around him.
